Trips and WTO

The philosophy of the World Trade Organization (WTO) is to implement a liberal world regime on trade. This aim goes beyond the national frontiers and has several effects on the legal system established by the Agreement on Trade Related Aspects of Intellectual Property (TRIPS), especially concerning the Intellectual Property Rights territorial principle. In the TRIPS agreement, geographical indications have the legal regime possible according to the WTO trading mechanism.
